Troop 282 was formed in 1958. Our Troop meets on Mondays during the school year from 7 to 8 pm at Leawood United Methodist Church at 2915 W 95th Street (LUMC). Welcome to the best Scout-led troop in Leawood!  

Our Troop is made up of about 75 Scouts from the greater Leawood, Prairie Village, Kansas City and Overland Park areas.  We try really hard to keep our programming Scout-led, with the assistance of more than 30 active adults leaders.  We have several unique and robust programs, including a Trail to First Class, a Trail to Eagle and a Life to Eagle program.  Our Troop also loves to camp; and we camp once a month during the school year rain or shine. Each June we at HR Bartle Scout camp; and we have multiple High Adventure opportunities each summer. We are very successful in that a majority of our Scouts become Eagle Scouts before their 18th birthday.
